Dear Suri Network Members,
Welcome to 2021! We hope that this year will bring many blessings to each of you. The SN Board of Trustees has been working on the 2021 goals by focusing on education for members and the alpaca community and identifying ways to promote and grow the Suri Industry.
We are excited to welcome Laurie Findlay, Alpacas of El Dorado, who has joined the SN Board of Trustees in mid-January due to Joy Conwell’s resignation for personal reasons. While we are happy to have Laurie join our team, we are sorry that Joy is leaving the Board. Joy has served Suri Network for many years as chair of the Product Development Committee and helping with the creation of the Suri Simply Stunning Brand. We want to thank Joy for her hard work and wish her the best in the future.
Watch your mailboxes for the new Purely Suri magazine coming early February. It is in the final stages and should be traveling to each of your homes soon. Many thanks to Dale Davis who worked many long hours on the layout for 2021. We appreciate her time and effort. In addition, we want to thank our authors who contributed to this edition and brought such a wide range of topics from suri fiber products, animal health and rescue, agritourism, to social media tips and livestock guardian dogs. We are excited to bring this magazine to you once again.
SN March to Marketing Webinar Series - February 2021
We hope that you will be able to join us for our “March to Marketing” webinar series which will be four, one-hour segments on zoom. It will be held every Wednesday evening at 7pm EST.
This is a free educational event for SN members; however, it is open to any breeder or potential breeder. Non-members can join the 4 sessions for $100 which includes one-year member to Suri Network! Don’t forget to sign up by February 1st to receive the zoom information. Share the word!
We also want to thank our sponsors:
Hasselbring Harmony Ranch, 2 Point Farm, Memory M-Acres, Big Timber Alpacas, Raynay Alpaca Farm, The Alpacas of Spring Acres, New Era Fiber/Long Hollow Suri Alpacas and Heritage Farm.
SN exists to serve our members; however, we need your help. Please consider volunteering for a SN committee. We need people who are interested in working with other members within the industry and helping SN to develop and improve programs available to members. Several programs will reach out to current or future Suri owners. No experience is required. We have some standing committees (i.e. Product Development, SHIP, Brand, Membership) and short-term, more targeted committees (i.e Symposium, Educational events, Board Nomination committee). We have also added a new committee: Show Committee. There are other ways to help make your association successful. If you have questions or are interested in volunteering please feel free to contact any Board of Trustee member or Cindy Grigg at the SN office.
