NEWS AND EVENTS

The Suri Network coordinates several events over the course of the year to promote, protect, and preserve the Suri alpaca and raise funds to continue the work of our organization.

THE SURI NETWORK ONLINE AUCTION-Nov.7 to Nov 27
The Suri Network online auction will take place in November this year. Each year the bar gets raised higher. Last year donated items sold for almost $7000.00! That was $2000.00 more than in 2020!  The generosity of our friends that donated auction items, the quality of the items offered, and the bidders made the auction a resounding success. We are certain that our auction this year will be even more successful!

THE SURI SYMPOSIUM:
This was once an annual event, but the pandemic interfered with the Symposium. The Suri Network Board made the decision to go forward with a Suri Symposium in early 2023! The Symposium always fills the schedule with a great line up of speakers, and the attendees have a wonderful time catching up with friends that share their passion for Suris. Mark your calendars for February 23rd and 24th! Details to come.

WEBINARS
The Suri Network Board of Trustees was overwhelmed with the enthusiasm and success of our recent webinar series, "March to Marketing". The speakers did a terrific job presenting online, and the attendance was triple what was anticipated. The series of 4 webinars were recorded and are available to our members for viewing at their leisure if they weren't able to attend. If you are not a member, consider joining to take advantage of these excellent presentations. To view the 4 March to Marketing Webinar videos, Suri Network Members CLICK HERE

ANNUAL MEETING
Normally the Suri Network holds its annual meeting at the Suri Symposium, but recent events meant that our meeting was held in the fall online. Keep an eye out for announcements for a September Annual Meeting!

THE SURI NETWORK ALL- SURI FLEECE SHOW
The 2022 Suri Network Fleece Show occurred in Burlington, KY, immediately following the AOA National Education and Fiber Conference! Over 205 fleeces were entered and judged by AOA Certified Judges Arturo Pena and Stephanie Glyptis. Karen Champion is judging the Fiber Arts, Spin Off, and Skein competitions in August and September. Fleece Show results are available on the AOA Website and videos of our judges are here.
