SPIN-OFF COMPETITION:
"The Handcrafter's Spin-Off competition
is an opportunity for the exhibitor to enter a sample weighing between 2 and 4 ounces of fleece which is
evaluated on criteria relevant to the production of finished goods,
rules generally follow the rules for Fleece Shows according to breed,
age divisions, Color Groups, and class size." (from the AOA Show System Handbook)
Any fleece shorn after January 1st of 2023 is eligible to compete.

April 1, 2024: Show registration begins for Spin-Off and all competitions
July 1, 2024: Spin-Off registration closes

If they are being hand delivered or pulled at the show after the fleece has been judged they must be received at the show by July 16th. Spin-Off Entries: $30 each

SKEIN COMPETITION:
The
skein competition is also being judged by Maureen Macedo. Skeins can be
either handspun or commercial spun. The purpose of the competition is
to showcase the skills of either the hand-spinner or the fiber mill in
converting Suri fiber into yarn. Skeins must be 50% Suri. You DO NOT
need to be an AOA Show System member to compete in Skein Competitions. The 2024 AOA Show System Handbook details the requirements for the Skein Competition.
The Skein and Fiber Arts competitions will be held after the Suri Network Fleece Show. Competitors will be able to submit their entries in both the AOA National Fleece Show as well as the Suri Network Fleece Show.

Items entered in the Fiber Arts and Skein Competitions must be 50% Suri

FIBER ARTS:
Maureen Macedo is also judging our Fiber Arts competition. You DO NOT have to be a Suri owner to submit an entry in our Fiber Arts
competition. Suri Owners please consider donating materials to a Fiber
Artist so that they may enter the competition, or consider sponsoring an
artist by paying some percentage of their entry fee. You DO NOT need to be an AOA Show System member to compete in Fiber Arts Competitions. For details and rules about this competition, please read the AOA Show System Handbook
